Hijacked woman's body found

2012-02-13 12:19

Johannesburg - An Eastern Cape municipal employee has been found murdered, a day after going missing, police said on Monday.

Nwabisa Senge, 25, left her home in Rwantsana Village to fetch her mother from a funeral in Butterworth on Saturday, but never arrived, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

"It is believed that she was hijacked between Rwantsana Village and Fourteen Junction at Centane."

Her abandoned car was found in a forest in Theko Springs Village on Saturday afternoon. A search by police and local residents had to be called off when it got too dark.

Her body was found at Theko Fihla River, in Centane, late on Sunday afternoon. She had facial injuries.

No one had been arrested by Monday morning, and Manatha asked that anyone with information regarding the crime contact the police.

What a completely stupid and senseless crime!!! Another in a list that is just ridiculously too LONG!!! And what the hell did they have to murder her for??? They didn't even take the car, not that I'm saying they should have, it absolutely disgusts me that crime in this country is just so rampant and heartless!! Condolences to the family and loved ones who now have to deal with this heartbreaking situation.

Her car was found abandoned, yet they refer to the incident as a hijacking. May she rest in peace, and condolences to her family and friends.

If ever there was a case for the death penalty, then here it is again. Hang the B@stards. Deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

      comurray - 2012-02-14 15:46

I think not, hanging is far too quick. Bash them around to near death then leave them to bleed to death. Their bodies should be garded so that nobody can take them to hospital. "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" is the correct punishment.

Another woman murdered, beaten and most likely raped by men. Please be careful when driving ladies and avoid eye contact with men in shops and at banks. Many perps say that a dirty look from a woman drove them to it. I am just as guilty of driving around with my car doors unlocked and the window down. Dont do it!! Keep driveways well lit and avoid having hedges and shrubs in your driveway where hijackers can lurk. Always make sure you have enough fuel to reach your destination and never stop for an obstruction in the road, rather reverse. Always have your pepper spray handy and make sure that you have a remote panic button which you can wear at home. Take care ladies, lets be more vigilant.

"Many perps say that a dirty look from a woman drove them to it." --- Erm I've heard the opposite, Take a good look at everybody around you, make eye contact and show that you have nothing to hide, "perps" will go for people they can take by surprise. I have driven through some hair-raising places, always with my window down and nothing visible in my car. I make eye contact with all the loiterers at intersections and I make it very evident with my body language that I am prepared to fight. Re the paper spray, if you don't have pepper spray deodorant works just as well!

Su men don't do the things you have mentioned, the filth that commit these crimes might be male but they are definitely not men.

    Another day in Africa.

      Irené - 2012-02-14 11:40

You know that 6 out of 10 of the world's countries with least murders are IN AFRICA? Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Mauritania...Get your head out of your ass, this has nothing to do with being in "AFRICA". And these tedious remarks are not getting us closer to a solution.

      Anthony - 2012-02-14 12:20

peter you forgot the south part

  • phillip.havenga - 2012-02-14 11:46

This is tragic! When will the ANC government accept responsibility for the crime in this country? This woman's blood is on their hands for their continued inability to take action, they rather sit and line their own pockets. Find the filth that did this execute them and be done with it and to all of those that would say if we execute them we are no better than them, POPPYCOCK! Crime is a like a malignant Cancer and what you do with Cancer is you destroy it you don't talk nicely to it.
