Johannesburg - A 32-year-old woman sustained multiple injuries when she was thrown out of a moving car in Randburg north of Johannesburg, ER24 paramedics said on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said the woman and a man she was travelling with were hijacked outside a house in Cresta on Tuesday night.
The woman was thrown out of the car near Republic Road at 23:00.
"According to bystanders, they saw a vehicle travelling on Judges Street when it appeared that something fell from the passenger side of the vehicle and rolled across the road. On further investigation they found the woman lying in the road with severe injuries," Vermaak said.
She had multiple injuries to her face, upper and lower body.
The woman was stabilised on the scene and was later transported to Helen Joseph hospital.
The man was forced into the boot of the car during the hijacking and was still in the boot when the woman was thrown out of the vehicle.
