Hijackers toss women from taxi

Greytown - Two people were killed and one seriously injured after they were thrown out of a moving taxi during an attempted hijacking in Greytown in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, SABC radio news reported on Friday.

Police said six men tried to hijack the taxi.

When police gave chase, they started throwing passengers out of the moving vehicle. The passengers were mainly female hawkers from nearby Kranskop.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and three unlicensed firearms were been recovered.
