JOhannesburg - A woman accused of conspiring with three men to murder her husband in a fake break-in appeared in Johannesburg High Court on Monday.
Marietjie du Preez, 31, of Bonaero Park, on the East Rand, is on trial for murder with Phona Mohlolo, 29, Thabo Mdlulu, 28, and Lovemore Ngcobo, 33, all of Alexandra.
André du Preez was shot dead with his own firearm in front of his wife and two children in June 2000.
The co-accused faced additional charges of housebreaking with intent to steal, aggravated robbery, and illegal possession of a gun and ammunition.
Inspector Marcia Havemann said that in 2000 Du Preez's family had arrived home to discover they had been burgled. They heard a number of shots.
Du Preez had several bullet wounds to his upper body and one to his left hand. He collapsed and died in front of his family.
The robbers left the items they had stolen in the yard and fled with nothing.
The trial continues on Tuesday.
