Hummer crash driver still missing
Pretoria - Police still don't know the whereabouts of a man who allegedly killed two motorcyclists when he crashed a Hummer into them in Pretoria North three weeks ago.
"He hasn't been arrested... We still don't know where he is and there is no new information," spokesperson Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said on Monday.
The 31-year-old man had not been seen since he fled the scene of the accident on Rachel de Beer Road in Pretoria North on October 16.
After the crash, the two motorcycles and the Hummer caught fire. Bikers Peter Coetzee and Johannes Kruger died on the scene. A third biker, D Coetzee, was injured.
The Hummer driver faces two charges of culpable homicide, a charge of leaving an accident scene and another of failing to report an accident.
There was speculation he was in Zimbabwe. The Hummer allegedly belonged to his stepmother. She had reportedly tried to persuade him to return to the country after receiving an SMS from him saying he was afraid to do so.
