Cape Town - The hunt is still on for the killers of South African theatre and TV great Taliep Petersen.
He was killed in his home in Athlone late on Saturday night - apparently in a robbery. Police say there was a single shot in the back of his neck.
Police spokesperson Billy Jones says two men, both of them wearing ski-masks, gained entry to the house at the front door.
Family members say they think they heard the door-bell ring and Petersen might have gone to open it.
The men allegedly held Petersen and the rest of the family at gun point.
Jones says according to the witnesses, the men robbed them of their cellphones, watches and other small items before locking them in their bedrooms.
They took Petersen to the TV room, where he was also robbed of cash and a cellphone.
According to family members, they heard one gun shot in the TV-room while they were still locked in their bedrooms.
Petersen's body was found moments later in the TV-room with a bullet wound behind the neck. His hands and feet were tied with tie-strips.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene in an unknown vehicle and they are still at large.
