'I am a serial sex offender'

Johannesburg - Stanley de Jager admitted on Tuesday in the Johannesburg High Court that he was a serial rapist by changing his plea from not guilty to guilty on 15 of 21 sex offence charges against him.
The prosecutor, advocate Louisa Loots, accepted the guilty pleas on seven counts of kidnapping, six counts of indecent assault and two counts of rape.
De Jager, 23, admitted to the crimes after his DNA matched that found on the clothes of four of the 11 of the women he is accused of having raped and assaulted.
There are 10 counts of kidnapping in which women, aged between 15 and 25, were forced into a vehicle, and were then forced to perform sexual acts with their assailant. The last victim managed to run away.
Earlier this year he denied all the charges and claimed mistaken identity after his victims testified in camera.
The crimes were committed between October 30, 2001 and May 20 last year in Meyerton, Moffat View, Germiston, Sandton and Johannesburg.
Forensic expert Inspector Tanya Pretorius told the court last week she had received four police kits, and the DNA results were all positive.
Reading the guilty plea, defence counsel advocate Francois Roets said some of the young girls got into De Jager's car willingly and others he forced into the vehicle.
He then deprived them of their freedom by claiming to have a gun under the seat and driving off.
"I forced all but one of the victims into sexual activities," Roets read.
The case was postponed to Thursday when De Jager is expected to go into the witness stand.
