Johannesburg - Counterfeit South African CDs and DVDs worth about R4 million were found in a house in Cyrildene, Johannesburg police said on Tuesday.
Captain Cheryl Engelbrecht, who was at the house at about 13:30, said nobody had been arrested and police were waiting for the owner to return home.
Police found an area in the roof where the counterfeit CDs and DVDs were apparently manufactured.
Engelbrecht said a number of musicians including Mzwakhe Mbuli and Sister M had arrived at the house with their agents to protect their musical rights.
The Creative Workers Union had confirmed that artists whose music had been pirated included Ringo, Stimela, Rebecca Malope, the late Brenda Fassie, Bheki Khabela and Mzwakhe Mbuli.
