Johannesburg - Expelled ANCYL president Julius Malema reportedly confirmed on Monday that he had received the public protector's provisional report into claims of corruption against him.

He told the Mail & Guardian online he was ready if anyone wished to arrest him.

Malema would not talk about the contents of the report as it was confidential, nor about a probe into his affairs by the SA Revenue Service.

He told the website his "imminent arrest" was a political ploy by those unhappy about his role in the aftermath of the Marikana shooting, in which 34 workers were killed and 78 wounded during a protest at Lonmin platinum mine on August 16.

Malema said he would make himself available to law enforcement agencies whenever they were ready.

"They have our address. They have the contacts of our lawyers. There is no need to dramatise the action. They will have to call me, I will go," he was quoted as saying.

"There is no need for drama. I am a well-known individual. I won't run away. The truth will prevail at the end."

Malema said: "I am aware of the [looming] arrest. One of [Police Minister Nathi] Mthethwa's bodyguards phoned me to say he overheard the minister talking to people about my arrest. There is nothing genuine. It is political."

Malema insisted he had done nothing wrong.
