Johannesburg - Six people, including a 4-month-old baby, were killed in a head-on collision near Mthatha on Saturday, Eastern Cape police said.

Nine others were injured and taken to hospital, said spokesperson Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.

He said speeding was believed to be the cause of the crash.

"Investigations indicate that the driver of a bakkie lost control of the vehicle, veered from his lane and collided with [another vehicle]."

Why do we have head on collisions and speed is blamed ? I can say I am not the slowest driver but I stay on my side of the road and do not overtake when unsafe to do so . Yes I do gear down 3 or 4 gears and overtake as quick as possible in order to get back to my side of the road . Speed does not kill , stupid drivers kill other people .

Good people of God Almighty, please drive careful, take care of other road users, don't speed up if you doubt your control, better arrive late than never, pray before u engage gear number one, the devils are thirsty, if you don't they will drink you blood. May God bless u in Jesus name.
