Tzaneen - A visibly nervous rape suspect claims he's a virgin and wants a doctor to prove it.
Donald Malowe, 19, visibly shook when he pleaded not guilty on two rape charges and said he'd never seen a woman's private parts in his entire life.
"I've never had sex in my entire life," he told the Tzaneen regional court in Limpopo. "I am a virgin. Get a doctor to prove my point. I don't even know what a woman's private parts look like."
Members of the public gallery erupted in laughter and had to be called to order.
Malowe, who is a Zimbabwean citizen, will spend Christmas behind bars pending his next appearance on January 28.
In a sworn statement to the police, a 57-year-old woman said she was raped while returning from a Zion Christian Church (ZCC) meeting. She said she was still wearing her uniform when she was pulled off a footpath and raped in the veld until she passed out.
A passer-by raised the alarm and the community gave chase and caught Malowe. When another woman in the crowd saw him, she claimed he'd raped her too in the same area.
Police then arrested and charged him with two counts of rape.
