2009-11-15 22:57

Johannesburg - Two people were killed and three others injured when a Toyota Camry and an Audi collided on the R59 near Sasolburg on Sunday afternoon, paramedics said.

One of the injured people was airlifted to the Netcare union hospital in a critical condition, said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha in a statement.

"On impact, the Audi was flung over the barriers and the mangled wreck came to rest in the veld next to the roadway. Emergency services had to use the jaws of life to free there bodies from the crumpled metal," he said.

The two seriously injured people were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulance.
