Johannesburg - The gunman who shot and wounded the former South African envoy to the United Nations, Josiah Jele, in July is still at large, Johannesburg police said on Tuesday.
Inspector Amanda Roestoff said there had been no arrests in connection with the attempted murder and police currently did not have any leads.
Jele, who is also the Security Officer's Board chairperson, was shot outside his home in Glasgow Road, Lombardy West, south-east of Johannesburg on July 29.
He was reversing out of his driveway in a Toyota Lexus when several shots were fired at him by an unidentified man about 19:30. The attacker sped off in a white Volkswagen Golf.
He was admitted to the Linksfield Park clinic and discharged on August 3.
