Jub Jub trial delayed
Johannesburg - The murder trial of musician Molemo Jub Jub
Maarohanye and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala was delayed in the Protea
Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The trial, which has been characterised by late arrivals by either the
accused or some court officials, was this time delayed by defence attorney Ike
Motloung being late.
A 17-year-old witness was expected to continue testifying in camera after
two other witnesses testified last week.
Nono Mabote and Maki Ndlovu testified that Maarohanye and Tshabalala were
drag racing when their Mini Coopers ploughed into a group of schoolchildren on
Mdlalose Drive in Protea North on March 8, last year.
Four children were killed in the accident and two others suffered severe
injuries that included brain damage.
Maarohanya and Tshabalala are also facing charges of attempted murder as
well as reckless and negligent driving.
