KZN MEC condemns burning of trucks
Durban - The KwaZulu-Natal government has asked for a probe into the burning of several trucks at the Uthukela district municipality's offices on Monday morning.
"We want the municipality to open a case with the police and to also launch its own internal investigation and report on its findings," Co-operative Governance MEC Nomusa Dube said.
She said the fire started in a truck belonging to a private company which had been illegally parking at the municipal depot for several years.
Dube questioned why the municipality had failed to notice the truck was being illegally parked.
"Somebody needs to account," she said.
