Durban - KwaZulu-Natal Transport MEC Willies Mchunu has strongly condemned another multiple shooting, as the body count in an ongoing provincial minibus taxi war continues to mount.

In a statement, Mchunu said a group of men stormed a transit camp in Polokwane, Lindelani D-section, and shot and killed three people while several others were injured.

"It is alleged that Blondi Herman, a member of the Mvimbeni Security, was among the deceased," Mchuni said.

"It is believed that Herman was among the 11 people who appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court last week Friday in connection with the shooting in Brook Street in Durban last week.

"We condemn these senseless and cold-blooded murders in the strongest possible terms."

The MEC said law enforcement agencies had been instructed to "work around the clock" to bring the perpetrators to book.

Mchunu urged anyone with information to report it to the police immediately.
