Durban - Ntuzuma detectives say a serial rapist and murderer may be on the loose in the area, and are offering a R250 000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

This was after the remains of at least four bodies were found in and around the area, north of Durban.

Initially two cases were investigated after human bones were found at a local stadium in the township. Evidence showed that the one victim was strangled with a shoelace.

Another woman was found buried and naked in a storm water drain, while another was found naked with open wounds on the back of her head.

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Community Safety Willies Mchunu said that it was a shocking discovery.

“I urge the community to come forward and work jointly with the police to find those who are responsible for this,” he said.
