Johannesburg - A father and son arrested on drug charges in Durban were released on bail by the Chatsworth Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, said KwaZulu-Natal police.
Colonel Jay Naicker said Yagawathan Pillay, 54, was granted bail of R100 000 and his son Lionel Pillay, 30, bail of R25 000.
He said Yagawathan was arrested on Tuesday night, when police raided his home and allegedly seized heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and Mandrax with an estimated street value of R5m.
Lionel had been arrested earlier, for alleged possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with 87 rounds of ammunition, drugs, gold, and diamond jewellery.
