Johannesburg - A man was arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of a school principal in KwaMbonambi, northern KwaZulu-Natal, KZN police said.
Captain Thulani Zwane said the 25-year-old man allegedly killed the principal of the Mashinga High School, Phiwayinkosi Ntombelathe, last month.
"Police found a damaged abandoned black Toyota Tazz with blood stains parked on the side of the N2 on 14 August."
Zwane said the body of Ntombelathe was found in the nearby bushes with gunshot wounds.
The man faced charges of murder and was expected to appear in the KwaMbonambi Magistrate's Court on Monday.
