Johannesburg - A teacher from a school in Melmoth will
appear in court on Friday for indecently assaulting five pupils, KwaZulu-Natal
police said.
"The boys were individually approached by their
teacher, who invited them to his place of residence to sleep over," police
spokesperson Thulani Zwane said in a statement.
Zwane said the boys had slept over at the teacher's house
at various times since February.
While there, the teacher made sexual advances.
The teacher was arrested when one of the boys reported
the matter to his headmaster this week.
"We intend to oppose the granting of bail to the
suspect and encourage any victim of this alleged unacceptable conduct by the
educator to come forward," said Zwane.
