Johannesburg - A teacher was sentenced to three life terms by the eSikhawini Regional Court on Wednesday for kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old student, said KwaZulu-Natal police.
Colonel Jay Naicker said Mlungisi Thusi, 39, began raping the girl in March.
He was arrested when he was caught in the act in May.
"He forced her into the bushes while she was on her way school where he repeatedly raped her.
Community members spotted the suspect in the bush and contacted the police," said Naicker.
