Durban - Three men facing 10 counts of rape and robbery have appeared in the Nquthu Magistrate's Court, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.

The men, aged between 18 and 25, were in court on Monday, police spokesperson Vincent Mdunge said.

They were arrested in August in Nquthu's Zicole area.

The men allegedly started their rape spree in March in the Lovisi area in Nquthu.

Mdunge said they would wait for women walking home late in the evening and accost them.

The victims were robbed of cellphones, cash, and other valuables.

"They would force the women to strip and then raped them at knife point."

Mdunge urged other women, who were raped by the men, to report them to police.

The men were expected to apply for bail on Tuesday.
