Kidnapped Joburg child found

2012-07-11 08:24

Cape Town - A 2-year-old girl that was kidnapped about three weeks ago has been found, eNews reported.

Asanda Twala was kidnapped after a family friend took her to shops near her home in Jeppestown.

No ransom was paid for the little girl who appeared to be in good health, eNews said.
A ransom demand of R15 000 was made for Asanda.

Gauteng police said in a media release that the child was left on the ground floor of the building where she lives with her parents.

A family member received a phone call telling them she was there.

Asanda was found, unharmed, but there was no one else around.

The police said that the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit is investigating the little girl’s kidnapping.

The child was apparently kidnapped by a woman named Talita Nkhanzi, who is also known as Thuli. She is allegedly the ex-girlfriend of the child’s father.

      Lulama - 2012-07-11 08:39

Drama....at least the child is in perfect health. Thank God for that

      luyolo.mgodi - 2012-07-11 09:52

Who could have possibly it the "thumbs down" on what Michael has said? Who are these 2 fools? Isn't this good news?

      Squeegee - 2012-07-11 10:14

luyolo, either trolls or truly evil people who thrive on the misery of others.

      Nyiks11 - 2012-07-11 10:42

these thumbsdown are a direct result of the burning of textbooks

      Anthea - 2012-07-11 14:58

Perhaps, the thumbs down was hit in error. I have done that before, but you still have the option to change it to a thumbs up. I refuse to believe that South Africans can be anything but ecstatic at the safe return of a child.

this thug must get over herself. At least 15 years in prison for her would be great.

      Ian - 2012-07-11 09:10

15, In my opinion kidnapping should carry a mandatory death penalty

      Bless Boswell - 2012-07-11 09:56

Did this not, in the past, carry a death sentence?

  • maniza.ahoua - 2012-07-11 09:03

I love good news. Thank you God. I know there have been many prayers for her safety. What a horrible thing to do - take a little child away from her family. I hope that there has been no trauma.

@Mgayi.....Unfortunately there are many troll turds here who get a kick out of giving thumbs down on anything positive...sad but true. We just have to ignore them as any attention given to them gines them thrills.

  • godesha - 2012-07-11 10:04

What on earth drives you to kidnap another woman's child? I am just happy this beautiful little girl is safe and reunited with her family. One bit of good news for the day.

      delish7564 - 2012-07-11 10:35

Jealousy, a desire to hurt another person? Who knows how some people's minds work but to involve a child is just cruel and the kidnapper must be punished accordingly!

  • Natsvdm - 2012-07-11 10:12

So very happy - such a cutie pie.

  • isabel.ashe.7 - 2012-07-11 10:14

    Amen. Home and safe...

  • Issa - 2012-07-11 10:35

No need for the police to investigate - its a known fact that the lady Thuli was the ex of the child father (jelousy is an issue here) I personally thank whoever assisted to get the girl back home. For the kidnaper she also deseve to be thanked for safe keeping the baby. The father and the lady (Thuli)there must be misunderstanding between them and the baby got in trouble of trauma and fear to the 3 past weeks. My advice to all the ex - please don't involve innocent people in yr busineses please please.
