'Killer mom' begs for forgiveness
Cape Town - Zulpha Jacobs, 30, the woman accused of killing her 2-year-old son on the Cape Flats, has reportedly asked her sister for forgiveness.
Jacobs’s sister, Mishqah Hendricks, told The Times she had visited Jacobs in prison and had been told that women inmates at Pollsmoor Prison had roughed up her sister.
Hendricks said her sister had started to cry when she saw her, after thinking she wouldn’t have anything to do with her after what had happened.
She then asked for “touba” - forgiveness - and Hendricks told her “Allah maaf”, which means God forgive.
Jacobs appeared in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday in connection with the death of her son, Taariq, who died after being suffocated.
His body was found in a shallow grave two days after Jacobs had reported him missing.
