Bloemfontein - Repair work to a pressure tower at Kimberley’s Newton reservoir would continue to affect water supply to various city neighbourhoods on Tuesday, a city spokesperson said.

Sol Plaatje municipality spokesperson Sello Matsie said the planned repair work could not be completed on time on Monday.

Work at the tower was expected to continue until 14:00 on Tuesday.

Matsie said water would still be available in the affected areas but at reduced pressure.

The affected areas are the city CDB and surrounding areas such as New Park, Southridge, Monument Heights, Minerva Gardens, Herlear, Cassandra, El Toro Park and Hillcrest.

Matsie said the rest of Kimberley was not be affected by the repairs.
