Kranskop attacks claim six

Pietermaritzburg - A man has been killed and another injured in an attack believed to be linked to an earlier one in which five people died and a woman was injured in the Kranskop area of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.
Captain Joshua Gwala said on Sunday that Bongumusa Zuke (38) was shot in the chest and died and Mboneni Zuke was shot and injured about 22:00 on Saturday.
Earlier in the day - about 18:00 - Thule Zuke, an 18-year-old woman, and four men - Sibusiso Ngcobo (32), Siyabonga Khanyile (19), Dumisani Mzimela (20) and Khayelihle Mtshali (35) were killed when gunmen fired on them as they drove on a road in the area. The attackers were in a white Toyota Venture.
Nellie Zuke was injured and two others were unharmed, he said.
In the second incident, the two men were alseep in a home in the Sinyambothi area of Kranskop when they were shot by gunmen.
Police recovered spent ammunition for AK-47 assault rifles and 9mm pitols from the first attack.
Police, who have offered a "substantial" reward for information regarding the attacks, have not found a motive yet. Anyone with information is asked to contact Captain CJ van Wyk on 033 444 1807 or CrimeStop on 08600 10111.
