2013-03-18 07:41
Johannesburg - A fire that broke out at a factory in Kya
Sands near Randburg was contained by 05:00 on Monday morning, according to Johannesburg
Emergency Management Services.
"We are now just busy dampening down the hot
spots," said spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 04:00 by
security officials.
"We've established that the factory was called Northern
Cleaners and it specialised in cleaning clothes," said Mulaudzi.
"We don't know what started [the fire]."
He said most of the building had been destroyed.
No injuries were reported as no one was inside when the
blaze started, said Mulaudzi.
