Watch as protesters march to the the Madibeng municipality offices in Brits to protest water shortages.WATCH

Mahikeng - Residents have started making their way to the Madibeng municipal offices to protest water shortages there.

This follows violent protests last week during which four people died.

Water to informal settlements such as Mothutlung had been cut off for months.

The protest comes a day after Madibeng’s mayor and two other officials resigned.

12:50 - Meanwhile, Eyewitness News reporter Mia Lindeque tweets that a 59-year old woman collapsed and died while queuing for water in the Borolelo township almost two weeks ago.

11:23 - A community leader has asked protesters to remain calm.


11:17 - Protesters are singing and dancing in front of the municipal offices. People are singing "voetsek!".
