Limpopo MEC faces tender probe

2010-11-11 08:03
Polokwane - The office of the Public Protector is investigating Limpopo health and social development MEC Miriam Segabutla, following allegations of an irregular awarding of a R16m tender to two companies, the SABC reported on Wednesday.

The owners of the companies are alleged to be close associates of Segabutla.

The matter was reported by the Forum for Limpopo Entrepreneurs to the Public Protector and the Hawks.

It was alleged that the MEC awarded the tender to the two in exchange for work they had done for her, and it was also not advertised.
