Polokwane - A second murder case against Limpopo businessman Rameez Patel has been postponed for three months because the State is still waiting for forensic results.

Patel appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday where the matter was postponed to December 2.

This is the second charge of murder against Patel. He allegedly killed Tony Adams in 2013. He is out on bail of R250 000 for that case.

Adams allegedly broke into Patel's parents' home. Police found evidence allegedly linking Patel to Adams' killing while he was out on bail for his wife's alleged murder.

Patel is accused of murdering his wife Fatima, who was found dead at the couple's apartment in April.

According to Patel, his wife was killed by robbers who broke into their complex.

He was arrested shortly after the killing.

Before the case was postponed, Patel’s lawyer Tumi Mokwena argued that his bail conditions be relaxed, saying his client should be allowed to report only twice a week to the Westenburg police station in Polokwane. Initially, Patel had to report twice a day.

The court ruled in his favour.

Patel is out on R250 000 bail for this case as well.
