Limpopo child rape accused in court

Johannesburg - A man accused of raping a boy in the Tjatjaneng area appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

The 20-year-old was scheduled to appear in court again on 10 October, Constable Moses Molepo said.

He allegedly raped the 6-year-old boy on Saturday.

The child's family had been attending a gathering in the area when the man allegedly snatched the boy, took him to nearby bushes and raped him.

The boy's father called the police on Sunday when he realised his son had been abused.
