Cops accused of raping 13-year-old

A police officer in Mamelodi has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, making it the third time he has been accused of raping an underage girl.WATCH

Johannesburg - A man suspected of raping his 12-year-old daughter turned himself in to police on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

Constable Thapelo Lesufi said the man, 45, allegedly repeatedly raped the girl since last year.

"It is alleged that the abuse of the child was previously reported to the mother by the child, but that nothing was done. The latest incident took place on 1 June."

The child told her school teacher about the alleged abuse, who reported it to police.

The man would face rape charges in the Nebo Magistrate's Court on Friday.
