Limpopo man shoots wife, kills self

Polokwane - A Limpopo man has killed himself after attempting to kill his wife, police said on Tuesday.

The 47-year-old shot and injured the 34-year-old woman, Lieutenant Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said.

He then shot himself in the head. He died on the scene, at their home in Joppie village, Letsitele, in northern Limpopo, on Monday afternoon.

The woman was taken to Letaba Hospital.

Police confiscated the firearm used in the shooting. It was reported stolen in Alexandra, Johannesburg, in 2007.

"It is not yet established if the firearm was used in the commission of other offences," said Ramatseba.
