Limpopo patients get wheels

Polokwane - Transport problems for rural Limpopo's health sector are about to end after the provincial government donated a fleet of 205 vehicles on Thursday.
The vehicles, worth R46m, are set to improve health service delivery for patients in the most remote and inaccessible areas.
Health MEC Sello Moloto handed over 13 ambulances, 126 patient transport vehicles and 66 mobile clinic vehicles to under-resourced hospitals and clinics.
"We're elated by the progress we're making in assisting our people especially in the under-serviced rural areas," Moloto said.
The vehicles would be distributed all over the province but under-resourced districts such as Sekhukhune (Groblersdal) and Bohlabela (Bushbuckridge) would get the lion's share.
The hand-over formed part of MEC Moloto's social development month and Imbizo week.
Moloto has been to Sekhukhune and Bohlabela districts this week taking part in the door-to-door social grant registration.
On Friday, he will launch a Braille project for the Limpopo Blind Workers Organisation in Vhembe district (Thohoyandou). - African Eye News Service
