London - Although South Africans in this city were happy on Tuesday that 14 of their 15 "missing" countrymen were found, "a lot of prayers went up" for the one whose fate is still unknown.
The South African congregation in London, which helped South African families to determine whether their loved ones had been affected by the terrorist attacks, believes William Masieko will still make contact.
The church, which has 1 200 South Africans as members of its congregation, was inundated by calls and e-mails from family members who had not heard from loved ones in London after Thursday's attacks.
There were initially more than 70 people on the list of "missing persons". A team of volunteers combed the British capital and by Sunday, the names of 15 missing South Africans were read out during the church service.
Some of the missing people had been living elsewhere in Britain, while others apparently "hadn't had the time" to phone their families in South Africa. Some, like Mark and Tania Anderson from Kimberley, were "surprised" that their names had been on the list.
Speaking from Scotland on Tuesday, Anderson said he did not know how they could have been listed as missing.
His parents are with them on holiday and they immediately contacted his parents-in-law to let them know that they were not affected.
