Johannesburg - The drunken driving case against a man whose vehicle collided with another vehicle on the M1, killing five people, was on Friday postponed for further investigation in the Randburg Magistrate's Court, a court official said.
Siyabonga Miaka, 25, was facing charges of vehicle theft, reckless and negligent driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and culpable homicide.
He was allegedly travelling in the wrong direction on the M1 north when he collided head-on with an oncoming car in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Ntsundzukani Mabasa, Wisani Maswanganyi, Faith Moyo, Solly Ngomane and Elvis Ritshuri, were killed in the accident.
Five other people were injured.
The theft charge against Miaka related to the Toyota Condor he was driving at the time of the accident.
The vehicle was reported stolen in Alexandra.
Miaka will be back in court on November 26.
