Johannesburg - The fraud case against former Limpopo Health MEC Miriam Segabutla was postponed in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Hawks spokesperson Paul Ramaloko said the case was postponed for further investigation to 15 November.

Segabutla was charged for her alleged participation in tender fraud worth around R15m.

She sat on the ANC's national executive council.

Her arrest followed a report by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, stating that Segabutla displayed improper conduct during her tenure as MEC.

The investigation was prompted by a complaint lodged with Madonsela's office in June 2010, relating to the procurement of services for a Limpopo government department.

"[She] acted in a manner that was inconsistent with the position that she occupied and that was not in the best interests of the department," Madonsela said at the time.
