MXit fetishist escapes charges

2009-08-28 08:43
Durban - The National Prosecuting Authority has decided not to prosecute a man who allegedly recruited teenage girls on MXit for the purpose of treating him like a baby and changing his dirty nappies at a fee.

The 23-year-old man was arrested at his home in Morningside on August 8, during a trap which was set after a 31-year-old mother received an SMS from him.

Police spokesperson Danelia Veldhuizen said the man was granted bail, but the senior state prosecutor at the Pinetown Magistrate's Court refused to prosecute him on a charge of crimen injuria.

No proof

Two days later, he was arrested yet again, but the prosecutor once again refused to prosecute the man.

According to Veldhuizen, the senior state prosecutor said there was no proof that the man had committed a sexual or any other kind of crime.

The man reportedly recruited girls between 13 and 17 on MXit and by SMS, and then paid them between R100 and R500 to treat him like a baby.

Reports say that the man had his own baby bottles and dummies, and apparently asked the girls to change his dirty nappies.
