Malema's moveable assets go on auction

Johannesburg - Expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius
Malema's moveable assets will go under the hammer on Friday, his lawyer
confirmed.
"As far as I know, I do not think Mr Malema is
opposing the sale of the movable assets tomorrow," his attorney, Tumi
Mokwena said on Thursday.
"The propert[ies]... attached are movable stuff and
do not include houses and farms."
Earlier in February, Brian Kahn Attorneys, Malema's
former representatives, had been instructed to file papers opposing an
application made to the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria by the SA Revenue
Service (Sars) to have Malema's estate sequestrated.
Malema had until 18 February to notify Sars whether he
intended to oppose the application.
Mokwena said he could not confirm which property this
included, saying that he was not handling the matter.
He added that they received the files on Malema's
sequestration application.
The notice to oppose was done on Monday, he added.
"The next step is to sit down and look at the case,
to consult with the client and make a decision," Mokwena said.
"We will formulate our grounds and proceed
accordingly. At this stage it is too early to say what we are going to do going
forward."
