Johannesburg - A Zimbabwean man has been arrested for the
murder of an elderly couple in Morningside last year, Johannesburg police said
on Friday.
Captain Kym Cloete said the 27-year-old man was arrested in
Diepsloot on Thursday.
On 7 September, the couple's son discovered his parents'
bodies in their home after they missed a lunch appointment.
Cloete said the house had been ransacked, and various
household items, including cellphones, speakers and a bakkie were missing.
The police recovered some of the stolen property when they
made the arrest, she said.
"The suspect will be appearing at the Wynberg
Magistrate's Court on Monday March, 18, on two charges of murder and house
robbery," said Cloete.
"One suspect is still wanted with regards to this
case," she said.
