Johannesburg – A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 17-year-old niece in Sharpeville while she was taking a bath, Gauteng police said on Monday.

The man, 30, allegedly raped the girl when he found her at home alone, Warrant Officer Aubrey Moopeloa said.

The uncle knocked at the door, and when the niece told him he couldn't get in, he allegedly forced the door open, threw her onto a bed and raped her.

The girl screamed and a neighbour came to her rescue. The police were called and he was arrested.
