Pietermaritzburg - A 47-year old man was arrested near Msinga, in KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday with an illegal R4 assault rifle, a shotgun and ammunition, said police.

"The firearms will be sent to ballistics to ascertain if they were used in the commission of any other crime in the area," said police spokesperson Vincent Mdunge.

He said the man was arrested by police acting on a tip-off in the Mkhuphula area.

The man would appear soon in the Greytown Magistrate's Court.

I bet he "just found" this bl* A4 rifle and was going to police to report it. 50 Rand bail and....he will go to look for another one as good citizen.

Good start but what about the other 5 million weapons out there..

As this is an R4 it was NOT sourced from a civilian. It is either military or police. Can the reporter please follow up on the story and report that a stolen police/defence force weapon has been recovered?

Probably *borrowed from a family member in the Police or Defense Farce.*
