Man caught raping dog

2011-09-20 20:03
Johannesburg - A man has raped a dog inside a toilet in Mabopane, police said on Tuesday.

"The animal suffered internal injuries that would have made its life difficult," said Tshwane SPCA spokesperson Meshack Matlou. It had been destroyed, he said.

Lieutenant Colonel Dikatso Thebe said the owner of the house caught the 21-year-old raping the animal on Sunday night and called nearby residents who beat him up.

He handed himself in to the police the next day out of fear of the residents, Thebe said.

He said the man was expected to face a charge of bestiality in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
