Man caught raping sister-in-law

2010-06-14 15:31
Johannesburg - A 33-year-old Soweto man was arrested on Monday morning after he was caught allegedly raping his brother's wife in Zondi 2, Johannesburg police said.

The man had been drinking with the woman and her husband until 01:00, when they decided to go home and get some sleep, Warrant Officer Kay Makubela said.

"Because they were drunk, the woman fell asleep on a couch in the living room while the men went to sleep in their bedrooms."

"She was shocked when she woke up and found her husband's brother, whom she initially thought was her husband, on top of her."

Realising he was not her husband, she screamed and her husband went to investigate. He found his brother on top of his wife. Police took her to a doctor for examination and treatment.

A rape case was opened and the man arrested within hours of the crime. He was expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
