Man dead, two arrested
Johannesburg - Two men were arrested after a 30-year-old was killed in a club in Mthatha, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
The man was shot and killed at 07:30 on Saturday morning, Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said.
"He had wounds in the upper body. Two men were arrested late on Saturday afternoon. Police confiscated an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, their getaway car and 27 bank cards."
Police suspected they were part of a syndicate cloning bank cards. The gun would be sent for ballistic tests to determine if the men could be linked to other crimes.
The two, aged 30 and 32, would appear in the Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of murder, possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition and possession of bank cards.
The motive for the murder was not known.
