Cape Town - Alleged serial rapist Tsediso Letsoenya's male victim on Tuesday told the Cape High Court of how the rapes were allegedly committed.
He said Letsoenya used to pick up couples, force the man to rape the woman in his presence, and then rape the woman himself.
Letsoenya, a leading seaman in the Navy, has pleaded not guilty before Judge Abe Motala and assessors to 39 rape, 33 sexual assault, 12 armed robbery, seven kidnapping and four serious assault charges and one of crimen injuria.
On the crimen injuria charge, he is alleged to have forced a woman to undress at gunpoint and then remain naked in his presence.
The rank of leading seaman in the navy is equivalent to an officer in the army.
Took out a gun
During the court proceedings, the male victim, who may not be named, told the court his former common-law wife and mother of his baby, had visited his home one evening in January 2005.
Around 22:00 that night he was walking with the woman. As they approached a bridge Letsoenya came running up to them from behind.
The victim told the court: "I thought he was someone wanting to join us, and as he came closer he called to us, so we stopped and waited for him.
"Suddenly he produced a gun, forced us down a path, and at the end of the path he demanded our cellphones and ordered us to take off our pants."
He then ordered them to have sex. When Letsoenya realised they were only pretending to do so, he struck the woman's back with the butt of his gun. He then raped her, the man told the court.
When he had finished, Letsoenya warned them not to look at him, or watch where he was going, and fled.
The case continues.
