Cape Town - A man died and another one was seriously injured when they were hit by a truck in Kuils River in the Western Cape on Tuesday, paramedics said.

The two workers were hit by the small truck while crossing Fabriek road, ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser said.

"The one man sustained serious injuries to his lower extremities and paramedics worked swiftly to stabilise the patient.

"The second gentleman sustained severe injuries to his whole body and needed to be transported to hospital rapidly," he said.

The man died in the hospital a few hours after being admitted as his injuries were too severe, Visser said.

Why are there pedestrians on the road????? On the N3just before London rd going towards edenvale there is a road sign 'beware of pedestrians'??? On a highway going at 120km/h??? When I did my learners, ilearnt that pedestrians were not allowed on highways??

They are contravening their own laws by erecting these signs and do not even now it. The law clearly states that it is illegal for pedestrians to be on a highway. Only in Africa! What is next on highways, duck crossings?
