Johannesburg - A 30-year-old Durban man died on Saturday, after he lost control of his motorbike which then flew into the air and landed on top of him, paramedics said.
"When paramedics arrived at the corner of Sparks and Randles Road in Sydham, they found a man lying on his back, being treated by off duty paramedics," said spokesperson Derrick Banks.
He said the man was stabilised as best as possible and transported to hospital.
"In hospital, paramedics and doctors tried to help the man, but he died a few minutes later due to severe chest and spine injuries."
Banks said that it was believed the man was taking a corner on Sparks road when he lost control, crashed into a concrete pole, and the motorbike became airborne for 10 meters, before landing on top of him.
