Durban - A 30-year-old man was shot twice and, while fleeing his attackers, he crashed his car and died, said police on Tuesday.
Captain Edmund Singh said the dead man, Terence Govender, was seated in his car at an isolated spot at Shallcross Industrial Park, near the Ridge shopping complex on Monday.
"About four men accosted him and four gunshots went off. Govender was struck twice - once in the thigh and once in the stomach," said Singh.
Govender started his car and was trying to flee his attackers when he drove down an embankment and crashed his vehicle.
He died at the accident.
Police believe Govender died as a result of his gunshot wounds.
The motive is unknown and no arrests have been made.
Singh said it was also unclear if the dead man had been with a companion at the time.
"We want people to refrain from parking in isolated spots especially now that the Easter weekend is drawing near," he said.
