2012-06-06 13:26

Johannesburg - A 19-year-old man was found dead at a brick factory in Vereeniging on Wednesday morning, paramedics said.

Paramedics were called to the scene to assist after the man's colleagues found him knelt in front of a machine.

“It appears that while he was cleaning the machine, one of the moving parts knocked him on his head," said ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson.

"He sustained traumatic injuries to his head and assessments by paramedics revealed no signs of life. He was, sadly, declared dead on scene," added Jackson.

Safety officers and local police are investigating.
